My High School Photography Skills, Where It All Started

.::Fleet Week::.
I took this picture when I went to Fleet Week in 2005. It was such a great experience. I went inside the Intrepid which is the USS aircraft carrier that was commissioned for service in World War II and went on to serve as a primary recovery vessel for NASA and then in Vietnam. They had all airplanes from the Navy, Army, Air Force, and Marines. I took a picture of the Marines airplane because my brother served in the Marines.

.::The Decaying Tree::.

I named this picture The Decaying Tree because that's what it looked like to me. The bark looked decayed but it still looked beautiful that it caught my eyes. This was the first picture of a tree that i took during high school.

.:: Chinese Orchid::.

Now for some reason I took pictures of trees in high school but i love them. This is called the Chinese orchid because the leaves look like orchids. Orchids are my favorite flowers and when i looked up i was amazed to see the resembles it had towards them. I needed to take a picture. I love this one. This is my number one picture.

"The Unknown Buliding"

The most beautiful work of art that I've captured. I call this picture "The Unknown Building" because I have no idea what this building is used for. I don't know if it's a hotel, apartment building or as I saw it, a wonderful architectural master piece.

I took this picture when I was a junior in High School. I went on a little vacation during school to Orlando, Florida to celebrate my grandmother's 70Th birthday. Even though I was on vacation I couldn't resist taking pictures at beautiful Orlando.

Funny story is that I don't remember where I was. My cousin Yoli was driving to pick up her sister at the bus stop. As she was driving I saw the building and I was amazed by it. Luckily the light turned red and of course she stopped and I took the picture. How perfect.

This was the first picture that I was ever proud of. Well except for the first pictures I took with a cardboard box I made. Which was my first pinhole camera.

.:: The Masterminds of Chess ::.

I was walking through Forest Park one day and I had my camera with me. I was really trying to take a picture of tress and flowers. When I stumbled to these men that were so concentrated in playing chess. I found this to be a good moment to capture. I took about six shots non-stop. It just moved me.

I find it funny when I show my friends and family this picture because they think that the man on the right didn't want his picture taken but it wasn't that. The man on the left made a move and Mr. Righty didn't see it coming so he put his hand on his face and said "No!". Yea it was a nice moment. I never thought I would have captured something like that. Thank You Photography GOD. (taken: 5/13/07)
